LPNI Study Tour to Finland- September 3-10, 2012

Parish nurses and supporters of parish nursing from Australia, Finland, Palestine, and the USA began their study tour by participating in a seminar, “Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body” at the Diaconia University of Applied Sciences in Oulu, Finland. Following the conference, the group traveled to the Arctic Circle and an overview of diaconal work of the Rovaniemi parish, and to Enontekio, where we learn of diaconal work with the Sami people.  Beautiful scenery, Finnish and Lappish cultural experiences, and brief stops in Sweden and Norway completed the trip.
